CITIZEN OF THE EUROPEAN UNION

According to the EC Treaty, every citizen of the Union has the right to move and establish their residence freely within the territory of the Member States, subject to such exceptions as are expressly provided for. Union Citizenship enables persons who are in the same situation to enjoy the same treatment irrespective of their nationality. Nationals of Member States are citizens of the European Union.
